"Some of my art is derived from objects I find on the ground while I'm walking, like scrap metal pieces or discarded objects which are left to rust and decay. I don't see it as debris though; to me it looks like it can be turned into something meaningful, so when the final art piece is complete I'm extremely happy because what was once just something lying on the earth to pollute the landscape has become something pretty cool to be enjoyed and cherished inside."
"I've been told my art seems to have a cultural significance and that's probably so, each object I find on the ground or an old bowl I inherit takes on that quality of life once it's finished. The process is just a little backwards: it's taken form the decaying/discarded stage to the actual "being" stage again. Most of the pieces share that same common tread of rebirth."
